Facebook Jumps On The Pushback Bandwagon Against “Fake News Sites”

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise! It’s been less than a week since Obama declared social media as the bane of his existence in his fight to advance globalist agendas. And good buddy, Mark Zuckerberg, has his back on that one. Facebook will work double time to counter what they consider false news.

The real questions are, what is a “fake news site, and what is misinformation?” Do we want single social media entities making those determinations?

The Guardian reported how FB plans to step up censorship:

Mark Zuckerberg says site has been ‘working on problem for a long time’ and ‘penalizes’ misinformation on news feeds to reduce chances it will spread.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced new steps to counter fake news on the platform on Saturday, marking a departure from his skepticism that online misinformation is, as Barack Obama said this week, a threat to democratic institutions.

“We take misinformation seriously,” Zuckerberg wrote in a post on Saturday. “We know people want accurate information. We’ve been working on this problem for a long time and we take this responsibility seriously.”

Zuckerberg said the company has “relied on our community to help us understand what is fake and what is not”, citing a tool to report false links and shared material from fact-checking sites. “Similar to clickbait, spam and scams, we penalize [misinformation] in News Feed so it’s much less likely to spread,” he wrote.

Facebook is very well known for it’s bias against conservatives. Zuckerberg has been called out more than once for his unfair treatment toward patriot pages and conservative news. What lies ahead for his large conservative audience in a Trump administration?
